Hometown Hero Banner Program

The Huntington Beach Hometown Heroes Banner Program honors the brave men of women of Huntington Beach currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. This is a joint effort between the City of Huntington Beach and American Legion Post 133. The personalized banners are displayed on light poles within the city to both celebrate and remind residents of their dedication to our country

In order to qualify, the hero to be displayed must be an active member of the United States Armed Forces and must be a resident or have an immediate family member who is sponsoring the banner and residing in Huntington Beach (wife/husband, daughter/son, or granddaughter/ grandson). Verification of qualifications is required. Banners shall be displayed for a period of 12 months, at which time the sponsor will have the option of renewing or, if the soldier is no longer actively serving, retiring the banner. Banners will be returned to the sponsor.

Each banner costs a total of $160 for fabrication, hardware, and installation. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Please see the application brochure below for more details.

Tax-deductible donations and sponsorships are accepted by the American Legion Post 133. Please make your check payable to "American Legion Huntington Beach Post 133 - Hometown Heroes Program" and mail to:
